5 Reasons to say 'Yes' to the unknown

Reason #1

You might discover a new passion or hobby you wouldn't of tried other wise. For us, surfing was something we had always wanted to try. It wasn't practical to take up surfing where we were currently residing. So when we took the leap and moved to New Zealand, we pretty much had world class surf breaks in our backyard. We purchased surf boards and headed to the waves every chance we got.

Reason #2

You get the chance to meet people from other cultures, swap stories and learn a thing or two. We spent hours laughing and telling stories from our lives and listening to the wild tales of historic Fiji. Learning about other belief systems and how others can live in such peace and harmony with less. You learn to look at life from a different perspective and see whats really important.

Reason #3

You may experience a sense of freedom you never knew you needed. In the western world we can get so caught up in the daily hustle. Forgetting that life is meant to be enjoyed. That saying "we are not put here to just pay bills and die", has never rang more true. Spending quality time with people you care about, creating memories and decreasing stress levels. You learn that time is far to precious to be throwing it away over a life that isn't contributing to your happiness.

Reason #4

You can give yourself time to heal. Whether that be physically or mentally. Although it may be scary at first...sometimes by changing up your surroundings or your routine, you allow for other parts of your brain to shine through. Get those creative juices flowing, get your body moving. Use this new way of life to discover a part of you that had been otherwise suppressed.

Reason #5

Last but not least, you will have some kick ass adventures. Growth happens when you leave your comfort zone. Completing a climb you never thought you could, sweating, muscles aching, fatigue...but you push on. And at the top you are rewarded with breathtaking scenery. You jump into crystal clear ( freezing ) glacier water, crack open a cold beer and soak in this accomplishment. *Warning* it will leave you wanting more.

Say yes to adventure and say yes to the unknown!
